A healthy yoga practice reminds us to be honest and kind to ourselves, to listen to our body's needs and callings. When our body isn't ready to take a certain postures, we need to adjust the poses to suit our physical conditions, to make them work for us. Its a give and take situation.
However, at times, we tend to get distracted by an image of a 'perfect' pose and ended up over-training ourselves. We've seen too many picture perfect poses on social media and magazines, we admired them, maybe aspired to look like them so when we achieved them,we feel proud about our yoga 'achievements'.
Every one of us are unique in our own ways. There is no need to compare, no ideal pose to dream about. One step at a time, we will get there.
A true practice requires discipline, dedication, commitment and patience. We need to constantly stoke the fire of self-transformation and navigate through the process mindfully. Over time, knots are untied and we are ready to receive more.
I've learned my lessons through hard ways and smart ways and I want to share my experiences with you. Here goes and I hope you find these 5 points useful.
Happy practising,
I wish you Peace and Love.
